EZ Auto Movers

Vehicle Shipping Terms Cheat Sheet

🚛 Carrier

The truck and driver transporting your vehicle.

📞 Broker

The company (like EZ Auto Movers) that coordinates your shipment by matching you with a licensed carrier.

📝 Bill of Lading (BOL)

An inspection report used at pickup and delivery. It documents the condition of your vehicle and must be signed by both the driver and customer.

💵 Deposit

A small upfront payment to reserve your spot on the truck. It’s part of your total cost and is paid via Zelle or credit card.

💰 Balance Due

The remaining amount owed, typically paid in cash at delivery. Some customers opt to pay in full upfront — just let us know during booking.

📅 Pickup Window

The 1–2 day range during which your vehicle will be picked up. Drivers confirm an exact date and time once they’re assigned.

📍 Door-to-Door Shipping

Your vehicle is picked up and delivered as close to your specified addresses as possible. If access is restricted (tight streets, low bridges), we’ll coordinate a nearby meeting spot.

☀️ Open Carrier

A standard, open-air truck. More affordable and faster to schedule. Your car is exposed to the elements, just like it would be on the road.

🛡️ Enclosed Carrier

A fully covered truck offering extra protection. Ideal for luxury, antique, or specialty vehicles.

⏱️ Transit Time

The time it takes to deliver your vehicle once picked up. Typically 3–10 days depending on the route.

🔧 Inoperable Vehicle

A vehicle that doesn’t run or drive. Still shippable, but requires special equipment and must be disclosed ahead of time.

📦 Personal Items

You may store up to 100 lbs of personal belongings in the trunk or below window level. Anything more may result in additional fees.

🔐 TWIC Card

A security clearance required to access U.S. ports. Our drivers have this for port pickups and deliveries.
